One goal achieved...

This is a quilt I started some time ago and while the quilt isn't finished, my goal was to complete the blanket stitch applique. I actually did finish it! Now all I have to do is find the rest of the fabric to do the borders. (It is somewhere around here,I don't have to buy anything more)
This was a kit I bought from ebay about 18 months ago. It is a kpkids pattern (possibly a freebie handout) and I have to say it is a confusing pattern. The instructions have some mistakes ( in my opinion) and I think this may be why it was being sold off on ebay. The appliques are blanket stitched, which I do enjoy doing. I am looking forward to working on it because most of the hard work is done now. The pattern is for a square quilt, I am going to make a rectangle quilt - probably cot quilt size.
It is a nice feeling to complete a goal.

That is a cute quilt. Lucky you, going to Byron Bay. My daughter used to live there and we went to visit her several times. Loved it. She now moved south to a place near Coffs Harbour so we don't get to Byron any more. Sigh. And the Festival sounds fantastic!

Darling little quilt. Hope you find the border fabric soon, as it's too cute not to turn into a quilt. =)

Have fun in Byron and but don't eat any of the herbal biscuits or smoke the organic cigs!
Love that bright quilt, but especially love the chicken card, that's going in the ideas basket for next year, Cheers Tracey

What a lovely bright quilt - glad you managed to get it done in spite of the pattern mistakes.

Hi Bettsy, what a neat quilt! It has the look of being from a slightly earlier time. I like the design very much, and agree with you, I can see where it could be a real stinker without good directions. Hurray for almost finished!!
Loved seeing the chicks on Colly's card...brings back good memories of the kids school days. Hugs, Finn
